For a common man, he is curious to know ‘what is cloud computing’ ?. How it would be useful to his day to day productivity in professional or personal activities? Is it for IT savvy only or it is a new buss word? Any national daily we open today ( Time of India Article: The Cloud Computing Era (28 Feb 2011 : Click here) often see something about 'cloud computing' and how it is changing the life of people in a major way.
How cloud computing will help researchers and students in academics and professions? Today, Google search of "Cloud computing" would result over 32 million hits. Searching and finding relevant information from these web pages is a Herculean’s task. Can we learn faster and better?
To answer all or at least some of the genuine questions, we are planning to host a joint symposium on cloud computing for education and research at International Institute of Information Technology (I2IT), Pune during (dates to be fixed) collaboratively by I2IT, IGNOU (Indira Gandhi National Open University), NCL (National Chemical Laboratory) and Persistent Systems. It is a great opportunity for IT industry to showcase the current and future 'cloud business' opportunities to experts in academia and industry in a mutually beneficial manner.
